My most frequently used Pentium III IBM T23 just died. Possibly a fuse
or a dead mobo.
Is it possible to upgrade the 1.2 (not 1.2R) installation CD to work
with a dual core IBM/Lenovo T60p? If so, do you replace file in an ISO
file or do you have to create a new bootable CD ISO file? If so, by
using e.g. CDBoot @ Hobbes?
Without upgrades and a skipped TESTCFG.SYS the best result (single
core, performance mode) is the partitioning GUI, without a recognized
drive. In compatibility mode the installer crashes.
Can I skip TESTCFG.SYS again, use performance mode, use
SMP20050811.ZIP to obtain a SMP kernel, and upgrade DANI* to support
the harddisk?
Disabling the second core ia an option too, but not the prefered
option.
